I could have easily give this film a lower rating, but could easily give it a higher one at the same time. I’m torn between whether or not this is a very good film or a very Meh one.

There was a lot of action, and twists and turns to the story but feel like there was something missing. Unsure as to what but the film didn’t fully capture me.

It was well casted — especially Boseman, Simmons and Burns — and all rounded together to make sense but me as the audience wanted a little more. Perhaps there was too much action and not enough depth. The film started as if it was going to be a deep meaningful journey for the main character, this was partially delivered.

Chadwick Boseman’s character is a NYPD Detective notorious for being trigger heavy. Yet in this high paced pursuit of two cop killers, he’s the only man in blue talking before shooting. In this chase for justice.

It is important to mention, during the filming and production of this picture, Chadwick Boseman was battling with the deadly disease that sadly took his life. Despite this and as in every other film he made during this time, he bodied the role and delivered an excellent performance.

I could easily watch again.

3* 6/10
